Johan Lange can finance final January transfer deal using £49m triple sale

Johan Lange took on the role of Tottenham’s technical director in October. In order to raise funds for potential signings, Lange could offload three players before the January transfer window closes. The club is reportedly in talks to sign Norwegian wonderkid Antonio Nusa, but his services come at a high price. Spurs have already had seven players leave this month, but none of them brought in a fee. They secured the services of Radu Dragusin for £26.7 million and may activate Timo Werner’s buy option for around £15 million at the end of the season. Adding in the potential signing of Nusa for £30 million, Lange oversaw a significant financial outlay while many of Tottenham’s rivals remained inactive.

There is still a possibility of more players leaving, which could free up the cash needed to secure the Nusa deal. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Ryan Sessegnon, and Bryan Gil are potential candidates for sale. Combined, they are valued at £49 million. None of them have consistently made the starting lineup this season, with Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr dominating the midfield. Hojbjerg, in particular, is reportedly attracting interest from Juventus and is eager for regular game time. Sessegnon has returned from a long-term injury only to find himself behind Destiny Udogie in the left-back position. He is also seeking guaranteed playing time and Spurs have received inquiries regarding his availability. Gil has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League and Nusa’s potential arrival would likely push him further down the pecking order. Gil has expressed his desire for a permanent move or an obligation-to-buy clause in his next move.

Overall, Lange and his team have received significant interest in selling players to raise funds for potential signings. The final days of the January transfer window could see further movement in Tottenham’s squad.
