Man Utd cautioned of having another Cristiano Ronaldo with raised questions

Cristiano Ronaldo was accused of being unable to play in the same side as Bruno Fernandes at Manchester United. This accusation was similar to one made by Frank Lampard, who warned that Mason Mount might not be a good fit in the same team as Fernandes. Lampard cited experiences from his time managing Mount at Derby, where he praised Mount’s abilities and determination. He acknowledged that injuries have limited Mount’s playing time and effectiveness at United, but expressed confidence that Mount will eventually overcome these challenges and showcase his talent.

During their brief time together at Manchester United, Ronaldo and Fernandes were deemed incompatible by some observers, with opinions that they both wanted to be the focal point of the team. Lampard echoed this concern about Fernandes potentially affecting Mount’s performance at United, and questioned how the two players would fit together in the team. He emphasized the need for a clear plan and space allocation for a player of Mount’s caliber in the team.

Mount, who joined United from Chelsea in the summer, has been limited to just four Premier League starts due to injuries. Despite struggling to influence games and yet to score for his new club, Lampard expressed his belief in Mount’s abilities and his determination to prove himself on the field. He highlighted Mount’s strong work ethic, technical skills, and desire to succeed, drawing from his previous experience managing the player at Derby.

Lampard acknowledged that Mount’s transition to a new environment may have impacted his performance, but he maintained his belief that Mount will ultimately succeed due to his talent and determination.
