Newcastle’s January Transfer Window Ends with Amadou Onana’s £30m Exit Signing – A Dream Come True for the Club

Newcastle reportedly think Everton ace Amadou Onana is a good option to boost their midfield. According to The Telegraph, Newcastle believe the Belgium international has the attributes and profile needed to improve the squad at St James’ Park. Onana has excelled for Everton and has made 58 appearances for the club. His £50 million price tag is proving to be a problem for Newcastle, but with Everton under pressure to sell players due to their Financial Fair Play issues, Newcastle will be hoping to agree a deal with their Premier League rivals.

Newcastle have watched from the sidelines during the January transfer window as other clubs have done business. They finished in the Premier League top four last season and are keen to strengthen their squad. However, they have been keeping an eye on Financial Fair Play regulations to ensure they stay within the rules, potentially hampering their ability to bring in new players unless they offload some of their stars. A whole host of players have been linked with exits this month, while Newcastle will be eager for fresh blood to arrive.

Newcastle are said to be willing to allow Miguel Almiron to move to the Saudi Pro League after agreeing a deal in principle to sell the player to Al-Shabab, with the Magpies expected to receive £30 million if the move goes through. However, Almiron is not yet convinced of the move.

Newcastle want to block Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson from leaving the club this month. The club has already rejected a bid from Bayern Munich for Trippier, while Atletico Madrid have enquired about Wilson. Keeping both players in England will be key for Newcastle before the transfer deadline passes.
