The German international, who scored the winning goal in the 2020/21 Champions League final, has been unable to solidify his position in the team, often being on the bench. Another top earner at the club is Martin Odegaard, followed by Gabriel Jesus. Manager Mikel Arteta has publicly supported both Havertz and Jesus, claiming that he did not need to seek additional attacking power in the January transfer window.
Arteta has also praised Havertz’s improving confidence and performance on the field. Despite his struggles at Arsenal, Havertz’s place in the German national squad remains unaffected. Prior to joining Arsenal, Havertz spent four years at Bayer Leverkusen and achieved success with Chelsea in various championships.
