Former Chelsea player criticizes squad as Pochettino has ‘only one international star’

Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea squad has come under scrutiny for their performances. Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf criticized Mauricio Pochettino’s team, stating that they only have one player who can play at an international level.

The Blues are currently 10th in the Premier League table and are looking for an improved performance against Wolves on Sunday. Liverpool scored four goals against Chelsea, prompting Leboeuf to criticize Pochettino’s squad, with only a few players redeeming themselves at Anfield.

Thiago Silva, Djordje Petrovic, and Christopher Nkunku escaped criticism, with Nkunku being the only player deemed capable of performing to the required standard for Chelsea to return to success. Leboeuf expressed his disappointment with the team’s performance and the lack of cohesion among the players.

He believes that the squad lacks experience, pointing out that new midfielders Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, who were signed for over £100 million each, have not lived up to their price tags. Leboeuf emphasized the importance of experienced players in helping the team overcome its current challenges and suggested that the lack of experience among the squad is partially to blame for their inability to improve their form.

Leboeuf’s assessment of the team’s performance and his critique of the lack of experience among the players reflect his concern about Chelsea’s current situation. He highlighted the need for experienced players to guide and support the squad through their challenges in order to improve their performance on the field.
