Klopp has made it clear that he is not currently considering another coaching role, stating that he needs a break from football after spending eight and a half years with Liverpool and that he has no intention of taking on a job in England as he could not bear coaching against Liverpool. However, he has hinted at the duration of his future in management. In September 2016, around a year after joining Liverpool, he mentioned his retirement deadline and his eventual return to living in Germany. Klopp has achieved legendary status at Liverpool, winning the Champions League in 2018/19 and securing their first top-flight title in 30 years, alongside other trophies.
He has expressed doubt about still being a coach at 60 and believes that having coached Mainz, Dortmund, and Liverpool would be fulfilling enough for his career. Klopp is expected to conclude his time with Liverpool just before turning 57, giving him only a few more seasons in the game. He has been linked to potential coaching positions with the German national team, as well as Bayern Munich.
