Man Utd, Arsenal y Liverpool se enfrentarán en partidos lucrativos

The Red Devils and the Gunners faced off in the United States in July 2023, with Erik Ten Hag’s team defeating the north London side 2-0 in New Jersey at a sold-out MetLife Stadium. This highlights the high level of interest in the sport in the United States. As a result, the league has a greater desire to appeal to its American audience, leading to a new set of friendly matches scheduled to take place in the US this coming summer. Arsenal last played in the US during the summer of 2023.

In the previous year, the US also hosted the inaugural Premier League Summer Series, with participation from Chelsea, Brighton, Brentford, Newcastle, Fulham, and Aston Villa in games spread across the cities of Philadelphia, Atlanta, Orlando, New Jersey, and Maryland. Additionally, the Premier League aims to take advantage of two significant years for football in the US. In 2025, the FIFA Club World Cup will be relaunched on the east coast of America, featuring 32 teams, followed by the hosting of the 2026 World Cup alongside Mexico and Canada. This provides an opportunity for clubs to secure significant appearance fees for major matches and to establish connections with emerging fan bases in a key market.

To further strengthen this relationship, Phil Murphy, the US 2026 World Cup executive and governor of New Jersey, suggested that the Premier League should consider staging competitive league matches in the US, following the model of NFL fixtures in Europe. He emphasized the strong demand for such games among US fans and pointed to the success of real NFL games played in Europe. He believes this approach would be well-received by American fans and sees it as a promising model for the future.
