Tottenham races against time to secure star they’ve scouted on ‘several occasions’

Ange Postecoglou openly expressed his desire to strengthen the defensive line before the transfer window, and he might sign a second new center-back as a result. Spurs have been very active in the Premier League this month, bringing in Timo Werner on loan with an option to buy from RB Leipzig.

Tottenham also fended off interest from Bayern Munich to secure Radu Dragusin from Genoa, while Djed Spence went the other way on loan. They may still make more signings before the transfer window closes, following Brentford’s hijacking of their move for Antonio Nusa.

Another forward is a priority, but the addition of another center-back is also being considered. According to Sacha Tavolieri, Tottenham has shortlisted Frankfurt star Pacho as a target and has been gathering information on his profile and situation at the Deutsche Bank Park.

The club’s scouts have been impressed by the Ecuadorian international’s performances and are keen on him, despite interest from several other Premier League clubs. With funds available following the sale of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich, Tottenham could make a move for Pacho and are also expecting further sales at the club, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg attracting interest from Ajax and Lyon.

However, Hojbjerg is determined to prove himself at Tottenham under Postecoglou.
