Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez left baffled by Super Bowl question

The Reds’ players recently featured in a social media video, where they revealed their predictions for the upcoming NFL championship game. The video showcased players such as Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Diogo Jota confidently supporting the Kansas City Chiefs, with some referencing specific players to illustrate their knowledge of the sport.

However, striker Nunez was less certain and eventually chose the San Francisco 49ers, while teammate Luis Diaz also seemed unsure before backing the Niners. Cody Gakpo also joined in supporting the 49ers, while ten Liverpool players predicted a Chiefs victory with a score of 10-3.

The Liverpool squad will be able to watch the Super Bowl as they have a game against Burnley the day before. They then have a week off before their match against Brentford.

Similarly, the Niners aim to prevent the Chiefs from securing their second championship in a row, mirroring Liverpool’s goal of thwarting the champions from winning again. Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who is only 28, is set to play in his fourth Super Bowl, having won two and lost one to Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021.
