After being spotted in a nightclub before reporting ill to club training, there were concerns that coach Ten Hag would take a harsh approach with Rashford, as seen with Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo. However, Ten Hag opted to leave Rashford out for a game and asserted that the matter had been addressed.

Nonetheless, readers of Express Sport felt that the punishment should have been more severe, with three-quarters of those polled saying that Rashford should have been suspended by the club for attending a nightclub just before training. Despite being fined, supporters felt that United should have banned him for a period of time.

Two-thirds of voters believed that Rashford should be sold this summer as a consequence of his nightclub visit. Although there has been previous interest from other clubs in Rashford, he signed a new contract with United last summer, and his departure would leave a significant gap in the team’s frontline.

Former United captain Gary Neville commented on Rashford’s situation, emphasizing the importance of making sacrifices for the love of the club. The majority of readers polled agreed with Neville, expressing that Rashford’s nightclub behavior was unacceptable and should be further punished by the club.
