Tottenham FC: Lucas Bergvall’s clear message after ‘cancelling deal’
Barcelona were heavily linked with Bergvall, who had a trial at Manchester United when he was younger. The teenager visited Barcelona after touring Tottenham’s training facilities with Dejan Kulusevski. Eintracht Frankfurt also made an extensive effort to secure a deal for Bergvall, but he ultimately chose Tottenham, snubbing Frankfurt and Barcelona.
Bergvall is enthusiastic about joining Tottenham, believing it will provide him with the best opportunity to progress in his career. With experience in senior football with Brommapojkarna, Djurgardens, and at the international level, Bergvall is looking forward to gaining first-team minutes under Ange Postecoglou at Spurs. The initial value of Bergvall’s switch to Tottenham is reported to be £8.5 million.
Djurgardens manager Thomas Lagerlof has praised Bergvall’s potential and believes Tottenham has a future star. He described Bergvall as a complete player for his age, capable of making decisive passes and handling the physical game. Postecoglou also welcomed Dragusin and Werner to Tottenham.
