Everton’s appeal for Financial Fair Play granted with reduced points penalty

Everton have received the verdict on their appeal against breaches of Financial Fair Play regulations. The club had faced a 10-point deduction and were placed in the relegation zone as a result. The appeal has been successful, with the club set to regain four points. In a statement, Everton expressed their satisfaction with the Appeal Board’s decision to overturn the original finding that the club failed to act in good faith, considering it an important point of principle.

The club remains committed to working with the Premier League on ongoing proceedings, while also thanking their fan groups and supporters for their patience and support. Additionally, Everton has been charged for a second time for allegedly breaking Profitability and Sustainability rules. The club maintains that it has been transparent in providing information to the Premier League and has always respected the process’s integrity. Everton does not recognize the finding that it failed to act in good faith and questions the severity of the imposed sanction, deeming it unfair and unreasonable.
