Man City may alter starting XI for exciting clash with Real Madrid in Football Sport.

Pep Guardiola is facing a selection dilemma with defensive options for Manchester City’s upcoming game against Real Madrid. This task has been made even harder due to a recent wave of injuries. The first tough call will be in the goalkeeping position, where Ederson is expected to replace Stefan Ortega.

Although Ederson has been out due to injury, he is considered City’s best goalkeeper. In defense, injuries to Nathan Ake, Kyle Walker, and potential absence of Josko Gvardiol leaves City without a natural left-sided defender. It is almost certain that John Stones and Ruben Dias will form a part of the back three.

Manuel Akanji may be asked to step in for Gvardiol. In the midfield, Phil Foden is expected to return to the starting XI in an attacking role alongside Kevin De Bruyne. It is likely that Bernardo Silva will also make a return to the starting lineup on the right wing.

Options from the bench include Mateo Kovacic, Matheus Nunes, Jeremy Doku, and Julian Alvarez. The predicted starting XI for Man City includes Ederson, Stones, Dias, Akanji, Lewis, Rodri, Bernardo, De Bruyne, Foden, Grealish, and Haaland.
