Everton forward Beto hospitalized after collision during Forest victory

Beto suffered a nasty head injury during Everton’s game against Nottingham Forest. The incident occurred in added time at Goodison Park when Beto and Morgan Gibbs-White clashed heads. Beto was taken off on a stretcher and later transported to the hospital. Former player Chris Sutton expressed frustration about the handling of head injuries, noting that while Beto had to come off, Gibbs-White stayed on, despite the impact being the same for both players.

Despite the injury, Everton enjoyed a successful 2-0 victory in the match, with Idrissa Gueye and Dwight McNeil scoring the goals. However, the referee’s decisions left the visitors, Nottingham Forest, feeling frustrated. The official Forest account criticized the non-awarding of three potential penalty decisions and expressed dissatisfaction with the referee and VAR. The victory placed Everton five points clear of 18th-placed Luton Town.

The injured Beto’s condition and the handling of head injuries in football have reignited discussions about player welfare and safety.
