Everton’s Reaction to Premier League’s Second Points Deduction

Everton has received a second points deduction from the Premier League for breaching profit and sustainability rules, dropping them to 16th in the table. Initially, they were handed a 10-point deduction in November, which was later reduced to six after an appeal.

However, a second breach has led to a further two-point deduction, bringing their total deductions to eight for the season. They have announced their intention to appeal against the ruling, expressing concern over the inconsistency of different commissions in applying points deductions.

Following their 1-0 win over Burnley, Everton now sits just two points above the relegation-battling Nottingham Forest and Luton Town and below the struggling Brentford in the table. Their statement expressed gratitude to the Fan Advisory Board and other fan groups for their support and patience.

The club is currently preparing to appeal the Commission’s decision and is withholding further comments at this time. Everton will need to avoid slipping further down the table as they face Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal in upcoming matches.
