Despite his limited appearances in the Premier League this season, manager Ange Postecoglou aims to convince Lo Celso of his long-term importance to the team. Lo Celso’s current deal will expire in 12 months, and he has been linked to potential transfers to Barcelona and Real Betis.

However, Tottenham is reportedly working on a new two-year contract with increased salary to retain Lo Celso. Despite making 17 Premier League appearances this season, Lo Celso has only started four matches and played 464 minutes in total.

Real Betis showed interest in him last summer and again in January, but he opted to stay with Tottenham, crediting Postecoglou’s belief in him for his decision. Looking ahead, Spurs are expected to be active in the summer transfer window, particularly in seeking a new forward.

Lionel Messi is known to be a fan of Lo Celso, and it seems that the midfielder’s future at Tottenham may be secured with the potential new contract.
