Erik ten Hag recently insisted that Marcus Rashford will not leave United in the summer (Image: GETTY) Erik ten Hag could be left red-faced by his Manchester United superiors if his comments on Marcus Rashford come back to haunt him. The Red Devils forward has been linked with a potential move away from Old Trafford despite being tied down until the summer of 2028. The French giants were said to have been weighing up a bid for Rashford at the time, but nothing materialised and he ended up staying in Manchester.

However, it has been reported that PSG could revive their interest in Rashford this summer with Kylian Mbappe set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer. It seems United will be prepared to listen to offers for the 26-year-old, with The Telegraph reporting that a large number of players could leave Old Trafford. It suggests that Ten Hag could be made to look silly if Rashford does leave after passionately insisting last month that he was not for sale under any circumstances. “He should be part of this project, so it is not a subject we talk about.”

It remains to be seen if Rashford will be among the players sold by United this summer after enduring a turbulent season on the pitch. This may include adverts from us and 3rd parties based on our understanding. You can unsubscribe at any time. Read our Privacy Policy

The report states that only three United players will be off limits for interested clubs when the bidding opens, with Kobbie Mainoo among them.

The young midfielder has excelled since making the step up to senior level and looks set to be rewarded with a place in the England squad for this summer’s Euros. Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund will also not be sold by United this summer due to them being seen as integral to the club’s future plans. However, all other first-team players will reportedly be fair game, and only time will tell if Rashford will be among those to depart Old Trafford.
