Man Utd duo expected to leave could stay as Erik ten Hag avoids Old Trafford question.

Manchester United’s manager Erik ten Hag offered an update on the uncertain futures of two star players, Jonny Evans and Raphael Varane. Reports have suggested that the defensive duo may leave the club at the end of the season. However, Ten Hag emphasized that no decision has been made about their departures, stating that discussions over new deals have not yet taken place. Additionally, Ten Hag commented on the club’s potential plans to build a ‘Wembley of the north’, expressing his belief that it showcases the ambition of the club’s incoming INEOS hierarchy.

He noted that while this ambition is positive, his primary focus remains on managing the team and rebuilding the squad, as opposed to dealing with stadium-related matters. Looking ahead, Manchester United is set to face Aston Villa, aiming to narrow the gap with the fourth-placed side in the upcoming match. The team remains eight points behind Villa, having played just three Premier League matches since the start of the year. Despite the ongoing challenges, a victory in the upcoming match could significantly improve the team’s standing heading into the remainder of the season.

However, Manchester United will approach the match with Villa amidst concerns about their injury list, which has been exacerbated by Lisandro Martinez’s recent knee injury. Reports suggest that the Argentine could potentially be sidelined for up to two months, adding to the team’s existing injury woes.
