Mourinho could pursue three Chelsea players if he becomes Bayern Munich manager

Bayern Munich suffered a 3-0 loss, leaving them five points behind their rivals in the title race and putting their streak of 11 successive Bundesliga titles in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho is available after his dismissal from Roma in January, and there are reports that the 61-year-old is learning German, possibly in preparation for a role at Bayern. This move would provide him with the opportunity to win a league title in a fifth different country, adding to his previous successes in Portugal, Italy, England, and Spain.

The need for a fire-sale at Chelsea, due to financial fair play regulations, is likely to lead to several players being put on the market this summer. Mourinho, if given the chance to rebuild at Bayern, would undoubtedly have an interest in some of these players. Notably, Romelu Lukaku, who has impressed with 15 goals in Italy this season, is expected to be sold at a discounted fee in June.

Additionally, the potential reunion of Mourinho with Eric Dier at Bayern raises intrigue, given Dier’s previous struggles under Mourinho at Tottenham. It is also speculated that Mourinho may consider pursuing Wesley Fofana, as Chelsea may seek to raise funds and entertain offers for the 23-year-old. Moreover, there is a possibility for an escape route for Hakim Ziyech, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray.

The 30-year-old Morrocan midfielder, who has proven his quality, will be out of contract in the summer of 2025, offering potential suitors the chance to secure a bargain deal.
