Liverpool close to reaching agreement with Jurgen Klopp’s replacement for three-year deal offer.

Liverpool is reportedly close to reaching an agreement with Ruben Amorim, as they have offered the Sporting CP manager a three-year deal. The 39-year-old Portuguese coach has emerged as the front-runner for the Anfield managerial position after Xabi Alonso chose to stay at Bayer Leverkusen for another season. According to SIC Noticias, Liverpool and Amorim are nearing a consensus on the terms of the contract. The potential appointment of Amorim marks a strong possibility for him to succeed Jurgen Klopp, who announced his decision to step down as Liverpool head coach in January after leading the club for eight-and-a-half years.

Initially, there were speculations about Xabi Alonso taking over as Liverpool manager, but he opted to remain with Bayer Leverkusen. Additionally, reports suggested that Liverpool could have considered Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi as an alternative. However, it seems that the Reds’ hierarchy favor Amorim for the role. Amorim himself has been evasive about his future, refusing to address the rumors linking him to Liverpool and expressing that he cannot provide certain answers about his intentions.

He has been successful in leading Sporting to the Primeira Liga title in 2020-21 and has also guided them to the final of the Taca de Portugal.
